The athletic look of a male swimmer is considered attractive by both men and women. But is it the most attractive male body type?

 

The perfect swimmer’s body is defined by a V-shaped back, broad shoulders, defined abs and an overall toned shape. It’s the athletic look that separates them from the bulky, disproportionate shape of bodybuilders. But how are the morphologies of the best male swimmers compared to other athletes?

 

Not many people claim that male swimmers have an attractive figure, but some say it can only be considered the most attractive body shape because it’s the only sport where you can see men practically naked! They argue that other athletes might have better bodies, but you just can’t see them properly.

 

If we follow the true stereotype (and there are always exceptions!), long-distance runners are too skinny, gymnasts and rugby players too fat. Male American football players, rowers, and sprinters tend to have more muscle mass than male swimmers. Each has its own characteristics. Male swimmers are characterized as having broad, masculine shoulders and an overall V-shape. These are not such attractive traits in female swimmers as it may seem out of proportion. Our attraction to another person’s body increases if that body is symmetrical and proportionate. Scientists believe that we perceive proportional bodies to be healthier. The body proportions of a perfect male swimmer conform to the “beauty ratio”, also known as the golden ratio in mathematics. This means the muscles aren’t too big in key areas and the overall shape feels athletic.

 

Taste is not objective and everyone has their preferences. Although most would agree that a universally attractive body shape is The Swimmers Body!
