Do they have four years of eligibility?
Have they committed to signing or accepting multiple offers?
Current skill/stroke production?
What position will they play in your team?
Do they have the ability to get a conference or national ranking?
Do they have good footwork?
Are they fast?
Are they strong enough?
Strong minded?
Consistency of results
Stable family history
Financial status
Will they continue to train during holiday periods?
Ability to get along with others?
Check references of former coaches and teammates
Drug/alcohol problems?
Physical examination required before signing?
Will they live on campus or off campus?
What are they going to study?
Scholarship requests?
The key to building a champion team is building a roster of athletes who are willing to learn, train hard, and work with their teammates to achieve a common goal.
